Ezi Group.

Who is Ezi Group?

Ezi Group are a Mackay-based plumbing and roofing crew who do things the right way, every time. No dodgy shortcuts, no surprise costs, no unreturned calls. Just licensed tradies who show up, get the job done properly and make sure you won't need to call someone else to fix their work.

The brief.

Ezi are not only exceptionally good in their work, but they are really bloody good at the social media game. Thing is, being a ‘reputable business’ in 2026 means you need a website your customers can use to suss you out, especially when you’re a small local business with an abundance of other tradies around.

So the goals:

  • Make sure SEO does as much heavy-lifting as possible, so they show up organically in local search results

  • Make sure their website visitors know exactly who they’re dealing with (including ensuring “Social Media Ezi” is the same personality as “Website Ezi”)

  • Answer as many of their visitor questions as possible before they contact you

  • Make it as easy as possible to contact them.

Cool? Cool.

The work.

No building begins until you have a plan. While Ezi has plenty of content available on social media posts, they didn’t have brand guidelines I could work from. That meant coming up with colours, fonts, personality and website copy from scratch.

Obviously, I’m not a tradie with plumbing or roofing expertise, so I angled their copy on ‘what would I need to know about these guys before getting them to do my job?’ and worked from there.

“Polished and professional” copy - while widely used in the tradie website sphere - would have left customers that met Michael scratching their heads. This copy needed to be infused with all the larrikin, everyday, mate-next-door personality of Michael and Kristy, and to do this, rather than reinventing the wheel I took all their existing social post captions and used them to help me write their copy.

My selection of colours and fonts don’t have any ‘trade secrets’ attached – I found complementary fonts to the words in their logo, and selected colours that would fit alongside in their logo as well. Plus a random pop of yellow for good ol’ sunny Queensland (pretty sure Michael was confused about that, but Kristy nodded and went along with me on this one 😜).

Tradie websites tend to be a bit… bland. Lots of words. Very minimal white space. Everything’s super mismatched and dated. And they all look the same. Not these guys though. I wanted to make sure they had a clean, tidy and modern design that made their site as easy on the eyes and brain as possible.

The last box to tick (both visually and from a user experience perspective) was removing all resistance to contacting them. On this website, it means plenty of buttons to tap for email and mentions of their phone number if that’s more someone’s vibe.

The outcome.

Showing up in local search results doesn’t happen overnight (and needs regular attention), but the foundation is solid. The copy is written with local SEO in mind, the site is clean and easy to navigate, and Ezi now has a digital home that fits perfectly in their online world.
