Got some questions?
I’ve got some answers.
Working with me.
-
It’s a bit of a “how long is a piece of string” question, but here’s the gist: preparation is everything.
Before we hit the build phase, I’ll make sure we’ve gathered all the assets and nailed down the plan - that’s how I keep things running smooth and snappy.
Changes made mid-build can stretch timelines, so being ready from the start pays off.
As a guide, a basic but fully custom website typically takes around 4–8 weeks from kick-off, depending on the project size.
-
Being a small business means I can give you the focus and care you deserve. It’s just me here, so you’ll never feel like just another number in a sea of clients.
I intentionally limit myself to two custom website projects at a time, ensuring you always have my full attention.
-
That’d be me! 👋🏼 My name is Kell and I’m the founder and designer here at Kell Green Design.
-
I’ve got a short ‘n sweet portfolio available here with some of my fave projects. 😁
-
Hmm, depends on how much chocolate you have… Kidding! (Or am I? 🤔)
If you’ve got something in mind that’s not listed on my services page, let me know. I’ll either figure out how I can help or point you in the direction of someone who can.
-
Welcome, new friend! 🥰
I’ll send you an email outlining exactly what I need for your project, but in general:
A Service Agreement for you to sign before any work begins
Your project’s payment schedule, including your first invoice
A questionnaire or workbook
A checklist of required assets (or anything that will be useful in creating your website)
Once we’ve got that sorted, we’ll be good to go!
-
Once your invoice has been paid in full and the project is completed, it is alllll yours.
-
Website-related things.
-
I do, and there’s a good reason for this!
After testing out a few of the main ‘drag-and-drop’ platforms (ie. where you can build a website with minimal code required), I’ve found this is the easiest, most user-friendly and feature-loaded platform.
My goal at the end of every project is to ensure *you* know how to make changes to your site without feeling like it’s only something a web designer can do for you.
-
Absolutely!
When you use Squarespace for your website, you only need to purchase a domain.
Squarespace’s subscription price includes website hosting (and don’t forget your first annual plan is included in my project pricing for custom websites), SSL and access to their website builder functionality.
I personally recommend the legends at VentraIP for domains - and if you’d like a hand setting it up, just let me know!
-
If you’re not able to provide copy or images in the beginning, no worries! Just a heads-up though: I don’t start the website build until I have them from you.
I’m not a professional copywriter by any means, but if you’re just after basic copy that ticks all the boxes, usually I can help with that.
If you’ve got something written, I’m also happy to lend a hand with proofreading or offer suggestions!
Otherwise I can always recommend one of my copywriter buddies if you’d like to go down that path.
If visuals are where you’re feeling stuck, I can also guide you on what will work best with your site’s vibe.
I know text and image content is a sticking point for a lot of people, but remember - you’re the expert in your business! When you engage a web designer, you’re paying for their expertise in putting all the pieces of your site together.
-
I sure can! While it’s not listed on my website (yes, I understand the irony 😉), I offer Website Maintenance services as ongoing support - each month, I’ll jump online to make sure everything’s still running smoothly and tick off any little updates or fixes you need. Drop me a line if you’re interested!
If you’ve got a big chunk of content to add and aren’t looking to do monthly updates, check out the Working Bee option.
But if you’d rather handle things yourself, I’m always here for the occasional “Hey, how do I…?” question, just head here.
-
Absolutely - I’ve got a couple of services that’ll work for you.
Check out Working Bee and Website Extensions to see which one suits your needs best.
Payment + Billing.
-
Yep, I sure do! 🥳
I know a new website is a big investment, so I offer Payment Plans for custom projects.
Your first invoice acts as a deposit and locks in your spot - it also covers onboarding.
From there, we’ll follow the payment schedule laid out in your service agreement.
Just a heads-up: any additional functionality outside of your project inclusions that requires a subscription needs to be paid before launch.
If you opt for a Payment Plan, website ownership transfers to you once the final balance is paid.
-
All my packages are priced upfront - no ticking clocks here! ⏰ Hourly rates only come into play if we’re tackling work outside your project scope.
Your proposal and contract outline the number of revisions included and any costs for extra tweaks.
If you’re after smaller updates instead of a full redesign or new build, my Working Bee service might be just what you need.
-
You’ve got two ways to pay for most services:
Pay in full upfront
Payment Plan
Every package requires a deposit when you sign the Service Agreement, no matter which option you choose.
If your website needs features with annual subscriptions, those fees are due before we hit the launch button - gotta make sure everything works as intended!
Complete ownership of your website is all yours once the final payment is made.
-
Payments are made via bank deposit - you’ll find all the details clearly laid out on your invoice.
