Who is Inka Interiors?
Inka Interiors is an award-winning interior design studio that specialises in technical design and documentation, collaborating with architects, builders, building designers and homeowners to realise dream projects.
The brief.
Sheena’s work speaks for itself. She has a stunning portfolio, booked solid, but her website wasn’t reflecting that. As an interior designer, visuals and function are everything. Website design is the same story; when a website looks DIY, it undermines everything else.
The work.
First up: visuals. The old Inka site ‘looked’ DIY, so the redesigned version needed to be polished and professional to complement Sheena’s work.
Using modern layouts that hold a lot of clear space, changing up font choices to be more on-brand and giving a small injection of colour to draw her website visitor’s eye were the foundation of the redesign for this website.
The next thing was user experience. A lot of Inka Interiors’ previous site visitors came through her blog posts, so improving the user journey from blog post (or any other page) through to working with Sheena was crucial.
The easiest way to do this is to look at a page and ask yourself: “what goes next?”. A blog post on ‘how much does a new bathroom cost?’ naturally flows to linking with her Bathroom Design service page, her About page and the process of working with Sheena on their bathroom project.
The outcome.
Looking at the previous site’s screenshots versus this redesign’s transformation, it was a big ‘proud mama’ moment for me. Taking Sheena’s content and ensuring her site design wasn’t overpowering the photos of her work but complementing them? Big tick.
